525 MSMEs in Biliran to receive livelihood seeding kits from DTI

NAVAL, Biliran, Sept. 22 (PIA) — Some 525 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) beneficiaries in the Province of Biliran are set to receive their livelihood seeding kits on September 25.

DTI Biliran OIC Provincial Director Jorge D. Modesto informed that the ceremonial distribution of the livelihood seeding kits worth P5,000 each will be held at the Civic Center from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the Provincial Capitol Compound in Calumpang, Naval, Biliran.

Modesto said only 30 out of the 125 MSME-beneficiaries  for the Municipality of Naval are invited during the ceremonial kit distribution.

Another 20 out from the total 53 MSME-beneficiaries will be invited to attend the ceremonial distribution for the Municipality of Biliran at the Conference Room of the Municipal Hall from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on same day, Modesto added.

“This is to ensure strict adherence to health protocols observed in the Province of Biliran,” Modesto emphasized on limiting the number of attendees of the ceremonial distribution.

The livelihood seeding kits distribution is the concluding part of the first component of conducting  Entrepreneurial Development Trainings to some 535 MSMEs-beneficiaries in the province, he said.

Modesto, who just assumed as the OIC PD of DTI Biliran on September 4 vice Faustino V. Gayas Jr., said that DTI Biliran Provincial Office is currently implementing two Special Programs — the Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) and the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PBG).

He added that these programs are aimed to help mitigate the ill-economic effects to the MSMEs of the province, caused by natural disasters/calamities that occurred in the province like typhoons, fire and recently the Covid-19 pandemic. (ldl/rsv/PIA-Biliran)
